THE FUCK DOES CUNO KNOW ABOUT VOICE ACTING? CUNO'S NOT SOME F****T ACTOR

Show thread

noo i can't believe they recast cuno in the final cut

on that note, who wants to watch end of wonder egg priority with me when it drops on june 30??

wonder egg priority

i'm reminded of late 90s - early 00s 13 episode shows like lain and haibane renmei. so far i don't think WEP coheres quite as well as either of those works, and i have some nitpicks regarding the audio and general production design, but i enjoyed watching and i'm looking forward to the finale

wonder egg priority

the plot is very ambitious for only 13 episodes and neiru seems underdeveloped to me, not to mention whatever the fuck is going on with the accas and frill. and i'm learning now that the production is hell, so, that sucks. still have big emotions about momoe though.

okay i caught up and i thought it was good? idk i didn't *love* it, the peak for me was probably momoe and ai being gender-affirming in episode 4. but i feel like i watched a different anime than the one people are apparently mad about? like i was expecting something on the order of madoka or even kill la kill but this was a totally sober take on difficult subject matter with zero fan service so... idk i want to see more stuff like this!

“Taken together these current left ideas suggest a future of small groups engaged in subsistence farming and the production of artisanal cheese, perhaps on the edges of cities where survivalist enclaves and drone-wielding tech workers alike experiment with urban gardens. Such groupings reproduce their lives in common, yet the commons they reproduce is necessarily small, local, […]exclusive and elite[.]” lareviewofbooks.org/article/ne

vast error

i finally pushed through act 1 and i'm gonna catch up for real this time.

i've played snowbound blood so i knew it was coming, but i think the transition from trolls-in-houses drama to the reveal that repiton is anarcho-capitalist is a bit clumsy and begs questions like, how did arcjec eat? did he work for a living? or was he a crack day trader?

i suspect that a lot of left-accelerationism is just cope. like, do you *really* think that crypto finance is going to destroy capitalism from within? cause if you do, then there are plenty of ways to make shit worse from the comfort of your gamer chair. simply log on to open sea dot io and bid on trueanon's "da gay pussay eatah" limited editi

Explaining the difference between a mode of production (broader set of laws of motion and forms of exploitation at the level of an epoch) vs modes of exploitation (can be deployed in variety within a mode of production, a more archaic form of exploitation (slavery, feudalism) can be readily deployed within the “more advanced” capitalist mode of production, and this does not make it anything but the capitalist mode of production) to Pomeroy while he eats crumbs off the table in front of me

help, help, i'm owned online! this is the violence inherent in the platform!

the relationship between the working class of the capitalist core and the imperial means of production is changing. new politics will emerge from these objective conditions. if there's a role to play for a vanguard or for intellectuals, its to help insulate this movement from capture by ruling class parties. the working class needs to articulate its interests as a class for itself, in a language alien to the bourgeoisie. to the ruling class, it will sound like the end of the world.

the progressives might win. capitalism is accelerating, mutating into something new. that's one future; a terminator with a human face. but there are always contradictions. always. there's another future, but don't look for it in the pages of jacobin. find it in the conditions of homeless people, migrant detainees, and prison labor. understand how the state manages surplus populations, and prepare for this to include *even more* of the working class.

the so-called socialist politics of the national DSA are derived from the conditions of yuppies jostling for positions at NGOs. if the anti-woke folks have a point, it's that this "leftism" is for the HR department, not the working class. and yet, by cynically disidentifying with left-liberalism, these commentors can only wind up back where they started: liberalism. they ditch the progressive faction of global capital for the moderate faction. you can't simply escape from ideology.

for the most part, your politics are something that arise from your objective circumstances. so many people in the US function as liberal individualists (even "conservatives") because their circumstances are those of liberal capitalism. in other words, liberalism is the ruling ideology.
